In this blog, we will look into Odoo 17’s e-commerce feature of setting different product prices for multiple websites associated with ERP software. This feature enables multi-website businesses to personalize product pricing based on the target audience, geographic location, or market segment.
Odoo 17 has introduced a new feature that will allow companies to set “Display Product Prices” based on websites. Any business that has multiple types of sales channels can configure this setting independently from one website to another. This will allow them to create separate B2C and B2B and other websites with separate pricelists for their e-commerce stores.
To enable this feature, navigate through the following steps –
Website → Configuration → Settings
In the case of multiple websites in a single database, users can also change website-specific settings, as shown in the above image.
To activate the ‘Pricelists’ feature, navigate through the following steps –
Shop-Products → Pricelists
The user then needs to select ‘Advanced price rules’(discounts, formulas) as shown in the image below.
After saving the configuration changes, the next step is to create a new pricelist. To do so, navigate through the following steps –
eCommerce → Products → Pricelists
To create a new pricelist, the user will have to define various ‘Price Rules’ as per the requirement. This can be done by clicking on the ‘Add a Line’ option as shown in the image below.
The user can then create price rules from the pop-up view as shown below.
Here, the user can select ‘Computation’ of price as
- Fixed Price
- Discount
- Formula
Also, we can select the basis of the price. If any discount needs to be provided, the discount percentage can also be mentioned in the price rules.
In the above example, the ‘Computation’ is selected as ‘Formula’, price basis as ‘Sales Price’ and ‘Discount’ as 20%, which is to be applied to all products.
After setting the ‘Price Rules’, the user can then navigate to the ‘Configuration’ tab, to select the ‘Discount Policy’ and the ‘Website’ where the discounted price needs to be displayed.
In the below image, ‘Discount Policy’ is set as ‘Show public price & discount to the customer’ and ‘Website’ is selected as ‘my website2’.
After saving the above pricelist, we can now navigate to the Website/Shop page. The user will have an option to select the ‘Website’.
As shown in the image below, the ‘Website’ is selected as ‘My Website’, and hence we can see the normal prices of the product with no formula or pricelist.
Now let us try to change the ‘Website’ to ‘my website2’. We can see the public prices and also the 20% discounted prices of all products, based on the configuration of the pricelist for this website.
Hence, with Odoo 17’s versatile and comprehensive eCommerce features, businesses can set Product Prices independently for each of their websites and can also create separate stores as per their requirement.
