Manage Call for Tenders in Odoo
It is common practice for companies to offer proposals from different suppliers when purchasing goods. Conventionally, the whole exercise entails receiving numerous quotations, evaluating them based on price alone and then picking up the best one for making a purchase. However, as a way of achieving efficiency and eliminating mistakes from this process, Odoo simplifies it with its “Call for Tenders’ feature.
Let’s see how to manage calls for tenders
Head towards purchase > configuration > settings > enable purchase agreements.
Go to the Orders section and select Create Requests for Quotation. Under the Alternative tab, create new alternatives and also connect them with RFQs that already exist.
Click on Create Alternative to create an alternative product line and compare them all.
If we want to purchase from another vendor who has the same products, we may choose a vendor and tick the copy products checkbox. In this way, we can make an unlimited number of alternatives that will be displayed on the alternatives tab.
At this point, We can click compare product lines and obtain pricing for every respective line item.
Green will display a lower price of an item as compared to that of a different vendor, where one can click on the “choose” button. Other price choices become invisible after choosing them.
Thereafter, the lowest-priced associated purchase order can be confirmed. At this time, once we confirm the concerned request for quotation, the system shall prompt us to either remove or keep the alternatives
The moment we click the button for cancel alternative, all choices are cancelled. Conversely, by clicking “keep alternatives,” we can maintain other requests for quotations. In this way, Call For Tender can be managed in Odoo.
The management of the call for tenders in Odoo makes it simple to procure since different quotations can be compared and evaluated with ease. The various product alternatives are created and managed through purchase agreements and the Requests for Quotation (RFQ) feature, facilitating informed decision-making. Also, comparing cost prices on the same platform optimizes purchasing efficiency and accuracy. A decision can then be made to confirm the cheapest purchase order and take care of other alternatives as needed ensuring supplier selection is done seamlessly.
