How to Add an Icon to the POS Navbar in Odoo 17
The Odoo 17 Point of Sale (POS) software is an effective instrument for overseeing your retail enterprise. Enhancing the user interface and overall experience can be achieved by adding icons to the POS navbar.
We’ll demonstrate in this blog how to add icons to Odoo 17’s POS navbar.
Let’s start by making a new module called custom_navbar_icon. This module will include the component for our unique navbar icon. then make the following directories.
Add the files in the manifest as follows,
POS templates were part of the ‘point_of_sale.assets’ asset component in Odoo 17. But POS templates are now found in ‘point_of_sale._assets_pos’ with Odoo 17.
The format and look of the icon are specified in the module’s XML file, nav_icon.xml:
We have updated the default POS navbar (Navbar) to incorporate our custom icon and established a template for our custom icon (NavIcon) in this XML file.
